Service Policies

At Home & Lawn, we aim to keep pricing straightforward and predictable. Some properties require additional time, labor, materials, or risk management beyond standard recurring service. This page explains common situations that may result in additional charges or service adjustments.

These policies supplement any estimate, invoice, service plan, or written approval provided by Home & Lawn. By approving service, scheduling service, or paying an invoice, the customer acknowledges these Service Policies.

Standard Recurring Service

Standard recurring lawn maintenance pricing is based on routine conditions, including reasonably maintained turf, normal access, and ordinary trimming and cleanup associated with regular service.

Recurring pricing does not automatically include excessive cleanup, leaf removal, hauling, disposal, overgrowth reduction, pet waste removal, or remediation of neglected conditions unless specifically included in the selected plan or estimate.

Conditions That May Result in Additional Charges

Overgrown Grass or Deferred Service

If grass height, density, or condition significantly exceeds normal maintenance levels due to delayed service, weather-related growth, client cancelled visits, or lack of prior maintenance, an additional charge may apply for the extra labor, equipment wear, and cleanup required.

Excessive Debris, Trash, or Branches/Sticks

Properties requiring pickup of excessive sticks, branches, toys, trash, yard waste, or other debris before mowing or service may incur an additional charge.

Any yard waste debris is left in paper lawn collection bags and left for city collection unless hauling is approved prior to service,

Leaf Accumulation and Seasonal Cleanup

Heavy leaf coverage, seasonal buildup, or properties requiring more than routine debris touch-up may require separate cleanup service or an additional charge.

Pet Waste

Service pricing does not include removal of pet waste. Areas with excessive pet waste may be skipped, partially serviced, or subject to an additional cleanup charge.

Additional charges are applied if we pick-up and bag pet waste, which will be left on site for the property owner/occupant to dispose.

Additional charges are applied if we require on-site cleaning of equipment or PPE due to pet waste.

First Visit or Neglected Property Conditions

Initial visits on properties that have not been routinely maintained may require added time for cleanup, line definition, overgrowth reduction, or restoration. Additional charges may apply, or a separate cleanup may be required before recurring service can begin.

Sidewalk edges that have been neglected may be skipped and a plan coordinated to have them addressed in the future.

Access Restrictions or Delays

Locked gates, blocked access, parked vehicles, inaccessible service areas, or other site conditions that delay or prevent service may result in a return trip charge, partial service charge, or service rescheduling.

Wet, Unsafe, or Unsuitable Conditions

If site conditions are excessively wet, unstable, unsafe, or likely to cause turf damage or equipment risk, service may be postponed, modified, or split into a later return visit. Additional charges may apply where extra trips or added labor are required.

Bagging, Hauling, and Disposal

Unless specifically included, routine mowing service does not include bagging, hauling, or off-site disposal of grass clippings, leaves, brush, or debris. These services may be billed separately.

Plans or services that include "debris removal" do not include hauling. Debris is left in paper lawn collection bags and left for the city to pickup on collection days or for the owner/occupant to dispose.

Beds, Edges, and Detail Work Beyond Plan Scope

Bed redefining, extensive sidewalk edge restoration, weed removal from landscape beds, brush trimming, and detail work beyond the selected service plan may require an additional charge or separate estimate.

Obstacles and Hazardous Conditions

Hidden obstacles, excessive surface debris, animal holes, construction materials, low wires, unstable hardscape, or other hazardous conditions may require service modification or additional labor charges. Home & Lawn reserves the right to decline service where conditions present unreasonable risk.

Minimum Additional Charge

When extra work is required beyond the scope of the scheduled service, Home & Lawn may apply a minimum additional service charge. Larger adjustments may be billed based on labor, materials, disposal, travel, or equipment use.

Notification of Additional Charges

When practical, Home & Lawn will communicate additional charges before or at the time of service. In some cases, especially where conditions are discovered upon arrival or during service, charges may be added to the invoice to reflect actual labor or service conditions encountered.

Refusal or Deferral of Additional Work

If a property requires cleanup, correction, or added service beyond the selected plan, Home & Lawn may postpone, decline, or limit service until the condition is addressed or approved as additional billable work.

Scheduling and Route Efficiency

Service dates are approximate and may shift due to weather, route optimization, equipment availability, seasonal demand, or property conditions. A specific service day or time is not guaranteed.

Payment and Acceptance

Payment of an invoice confirms acceptance of the services performed and the applicable terms, pricing, and policies associated with that service, including this Service Policies page.

Policy Updates

Home & Lawn may update these policies from time to time. The most current version posted on this page applies unless otherwise stated in a written service agreement.
